Review of Latte Cafe 32gb
I was looking to upgrade from my 8 gb Sandisk mp3 to a device with greater storage capacity. When I saw the latte cafe which had 32gb vs some of the other players that had just 16 gb it seemed worth it to take a gamble on the latte, despite not having heard too much about the brand, since it was cheaper in price than others I was looking at which had with lesser capacity...and the latte came with a charger & case in addition to the lesser pricetag.
I'm pretty glad with my decision so far. The player is easy to load & use. I love that it has speakers built right in so I can use it at my desk at work without having to wear headphones. The instruction manual it came with is a bit vague on some things (like equalization settings, but I've been able to figure out the major things. Also, sometimes it seems like you need to hold down the on/off switch for more than 3 seconds in order to get the device to turn on, but it works properly once it powers up. One other negative is that it needs to be charged a lot more often than my old 8 gb Sandisk, but that might be common for devices with greater memory (not sure?).

Overall I'd say the latte cafe is definitely worth getting & that you can't go wrong for the price.

Latte Cafe 32 GB Video MP3 Player
I've been looking to purchase an MP3 player for over a year now and I read tons of reviews. None of the MP3 players did what I wanted all in the same player for as inexpensively as this player does! This baby has a lot of features for the price, under 0! I also decided to buy a warranty for it, that is sold on Amazon, just in case anything breaks. Electronics tend to be delicate and warranty periods on most stuff isn't very long. I highly recommend doing this, but of course it's not required.
I am an older person with arhtritis and eye problems. It's a nice looking player, crisp videos, very clear and the colors pop out at you! I did not expect the videos to come out so nice. This is a good size player too, not one of those tiny things that one can drop so easily. I know people like tiny but it's hard on those of us who are older or have disabilities. The screen is pretty easy to read and it has both words and icons. The larger size makes it easier to handle for those of us who have arthritis. It's a touch screen, but one can also use a stylus if one prefers. I was able to hook the stylus onto the player and just fold it up into it when on the go. The touch screen is not very sensitive, but I found it you tap it it works well. I love the fact it has it's own internal speakers, no need to use headphones, but it came with them anyway. My family likes them, I have yet to use them as I had my own set I prefer to use. It can hold a lot too, it has 32GBs and you can also use a memory card with it.
I found it very easy to load my music onto it, plug it into the pc just copy and paste or drag and drop. It did not seem to copy my folders though,not sure it copied all my music within the folders either, but I need to spend time figuring it all out. For now I do have a lot of music to listen to. I admit I'm not very good with electronics, it takes a while for me to catch on, but that's where my kids and friends come in. lol.
I love the fact you can download movies and play them on the TV, but have not tried out this feature yet, so I can't review it.
I bought it because sometimes I travel and I wanted something to while away the time. I can now listen to music and watch a movie or videos.
It comes with everything you need to get started with, wires for charging and for connecting to the computer, you just have to plug it in and charge it up. I thought it really great that my tracfone charger also works on this player and so did my digital camera wires to the pc. Very handy in case something happens to one of them.

I highly recommend this to everyone, but especially to those like me who have arthritis or are not very electronically inclined and who are also a tight budget.

Can you add more games to this?
I recently bought an different version. It has one game but cannot add more. I am considering buying another one for my sister and she would love to have more games. Does anybody know if this one can add games? Appreciate your information. Thanks

Not bad but not great.
I purchased the Cafe as a hold over while my Archos 5Archos 5 60 GB Internet Media Tablet is away having its headphone jack repaired. I also have a Palm Pre but that battery life on it isn't that great when being used as a media player.

The touch screen is ok but no where near as responsive as the A5 or Pre.

The resolution is ok but you can see the pixels somewhat like you can with a ninteno ds.

I use windows media player and it syncs just like its supposed to just be sure to set up your sunc option before starting otherwise it will try and sync everything on the computer.

The sound is pretty good.....if you have a good set of headphonesV-MODA Bass Freq Earbuds - Bling Bling Black. The included headphones look like they are of high quality but music sounds like a tin can. The twin built in speakers are nice but are lacking compared to my Pre.

I played around with the recording feature and it works well.

Overall its a simple solidly built unit but it falls short of my Archos 5. If and when my A5 is repaired Ill give this to my wife. Also the fact that Amazon is currently selling the 250gb version of the Archos 5 for 9 takes almost all of the value away since the A5 has better resolution, a better touch screen, wifi, and more features.

Good Player overall
this player has many pros but also some cons

pros
* price for 0 its 0 less than the ipod touch and dollars than the zune hd
* plays avi
* large gorgeous screen
* has speakers that work well and give a loud rich sound
* drag and drop which is great for linux users (i use ubuntu) because it shows up as a flash drive and theres no need for bloated crappy software.
* Tv out port and wires so you can hook it up to you tv right out of the box.
* expandable memory
* Great Customer Support
* Great headphones

cons
* screen - its resistive and not a good one but after you configure the screen it becomes more bearable to use
* can't turn screen off- theres a switch to turn the screen off but when you do it doesn't stay off. it turns on the second
you touch the screen this leads to decrease battery life.
* doesn't support mp4 or h.264
* UI is laggy and feels rush.

at the price point its a great pmp especially if you use linux because this pmp has drag and drop capabilities. i think this player can be 5/5 with a firmware update since most my complaints are software issues and the only hardware issue (the screen) can my greatly improve with a firmware update. if they release one i'll edit my review.

I bought this for its big screen and its big storage, that itself is 10 out of 10. As soon as I got it, I tested to see if it would play flv files. I had to convert it to its appropriate resolution size in order for it to work properly and in wmv format. =( I bought it thinking I wouldn’t have to do anything other than transferring. The video then kind of slowed down and I didn’t really like it. Also you can’t use your own photos as wallpaper which sucks. Lost one star because of that, another because I have to convert files.

Life in Samsung “Duane” – Hey, can you tell me what your flv resolution size setting etc is? Cause I’ve tried converting and the video after conversion just sucks. Your help is appreciated. Thanks.

My boyfirend has one of this and he claims that this is the best MP3 he have ever had. He pointed the superior features, speaker on the back, large touch screen, 3D sound, etc. But it was little bit annoying if the video viewable size is over the limit, there is a gap between video and audio. Manufacturer suggested to convert if the file resolution size is way big and it solved the problem.

Pros:

-Supports text files, so you can load and read e-books, a feature most other mp3 players don’t have

-Comes with many accessories: a nice leather carrying case which can be propped up, earphones, extra earbud covers, a separate carrying case for the earphones, stylette, connector for you computer, a wall charger adapter

-Plug and play with your computer, no software download needed

-Easy to manage files and user friendly interface

-Excellent sound quality

-Built-in speakers

-Supports avi and wmv files

Cons:

-You connect to the computer both to transfer files and to charge. You CAN NOT transfer any files until the unit is fully charged, so plan several hours ahead.

-The on-off button is a cheap plastic piece. At least on my unit, it takes several tries before the unit will turn on.

-There is no scroll wheel, so if you’re looking for a file in the middle of a list of thousands, keep pushing the down arrow and hopefully it won’t accidentally jump you to the bottom of the list and you’ll have to start over again.

-The manual is too simplified, and there is no tech support or customer service to speak of. I sent them an email and never received a reply.

-There’s no place on the unit itself to store the stylette. The screen is touch-sensitive, so you could do without it, but again, for scrolling through lists the stylette can be handy.

-Does not have AM/FM capabilities

Overall I have mixed feelings about this gadget. It does have some capabilities (like text file support) that I really like. But I do find the first 3 points I listed under “cons” to be very annoying. And the price is still pretty steep compared to other products you can get on the market these days. I’ve never owned an iPod or Zune, so can’t really compare. My previous player was a Sansa, which I liked, but I needed to upgrade to something with more memory.

ADDENDUM:

Thanks to the reply to my review by the Latte representative, I was able to get a hold of their customer service by phone regarding the file transfer/computer connection issue (see above). They sent me a new USB cable, which did not solve the problem. Then they replaced the player, which still did not solve the problem. But ultimately, I was able to solve the problem by using a USB cable I had from a different device. The new player they sent me still has the problem with the on-off button (takes at least 3-4 attempts to turn on), and makes a slight buzzing noise when the screen is on (sounds fine when playing music if the screen is off). I still give this unit 3 stars.

I’ve been looking for a high capacity MP3 for awhile. Latte Cafe’ fits the bill. With a 32GB drive with the option of adding an additional 16GB micro card, you should not run out of space. I’ve downloaded over 2500 songs onto my Latte Cafe’ and still have over 20GB of space on the internal drive. I just wish you could play songs by genre.
